A friend and I were talking about overcoming hard things and how we build walls so we don’t have to experience it again. I shared that pain has been one of my greatest teachers. I’ve learned the deepest and most profound lessons through those moments of darkness.
I used to spend so much energy, effort and heartache chasing people who were trying to walk out of my life. You know what pain taught me?
LET. THEM. GO.
Why? Because if I caught them, I would spend the rest of my life trying to prove that I was enough for them to stay.
Did that hit you? Then it was for you. 🔥
Don’t rush to build the walls. All they do is numb us from grasping hard truths. Instead, build boundaries that lead to building healthy bridges. The hard truth is that pain is a part of life- and the fact that we are all still here means we have survived the kind of pain we thought would break us.
Yet, here we are. Let’s make it count. Find the people that are worth loving. Take the risk. Do the work to heal from whatever wounds have made you feel like you are not enough- because you truly are a beautiful creation that is worthy of unconditional love. In this place, you come to understand that pain can be a pathway to hope, light and fierce joy.
What lesson have you learned through pain? Please share it in the comments. One of my goals this year is to invest in encouraging connections. You never know who needs a reminder to believe there is light at the end of the tunnel. ✨
Your share could be exactly what another person scrolling through needed at this exact moment. 💞 Shine your LIGHT.

I have learned that if God is given my first fruit and I have given myself second, no one can exhaust me because the first two acts are perpetually fulfilling.
Love this! 🙂
